Redhotpawn.com - Entry 5.17.2007.1

A few year ago a friend designed a correspondence chess site which at the time was one of a kind. He never quite worked out all the bugs, but it's still got a handfull of faithful users. Since then a fully functional site has sprung up that does the same thing. This one, redhotpawn.com, has users hailing from all over the world.

I'm currently playing opponents in England, Scottland, South Africa, Brazil and even someone here in the U.S. named Semper Fi, which is short for Semper Fidelis, or "always faithful", and is the motto of the U.S. Marine Corps. Based on his or her response to the Sicilian (1. e4 c5 2. Bc4) and the anonymity and distance of internet interaction, I'm feeling my oats (like Wilfred Brimley).
